On2Chat launches a North American wireless chat service

Toronto based Mobile Reach Media Inc. announced today that they have launched one of the first low cost cross-platform wireless chat services in North America.

September 16, 2004 -- After working closely with wireless carriers over the last 18 months of development, mobile chatters from most North American carriers can now talk to each other, for only pennies per message. Conceivably, you can chat with someone at a sporting event while not sitting beside them, or better yet, meet a new friend in Arizona while at the supermarket in Vancouver.

Accessible from any SMS/WAP-Capable cell phone in Canada or the USA, On2Chat can connect users to thousands of mobile chatters from across North America. Chatters can connect to either generic rooms (dating/sports/etc.) or branded rooms with chatters of similar interests.

On2Chat has also recently penned a deal to create channels on its service with Kargo, one of the leading North American mobile application providers.
